Communication received from East Lindsey District Council
With the current heatwave affecting Lincolnshire, which is under a Red Heat Health Alert, we are sharing important advice and resources to support residents.
The latest update from the UK Health Security Agency (UKHSA) confirms that the East Midlands is under a Red Warning until at least 11pm on Thursday 25 June.
A Red Heat Health Alert indicates severe impacts across communities and services, including:
- Increased risk to life across the whole population, particularly older people and those with underlying health conditions
- Significant pressure on health and social care services
- Reduced ability for services to operate effectively due to heat impacts on the workforce
- Increased difficulty maintaining safe indoor environments for care
- Higher risk of water-related incidents, including cold-water shock and drowning
We kindly ask that you:
- Share key safety messages within your communities
- Keep up to date via the Lincolnshire Resilience Forum social media channels
- Check in on vulnerable residents, neighbours, friends and family members
